However, there is a paucity of data about the C. pseudotuberculosis exotoxin, phospholipase D (PLD) response during the course of CLA. Therefore, this study was conducted to observe the clinical signs and the cellular changes after an experimental infection of the C. pseudotuberculosis and phospholipase D challenge. Twenty six crossbred Boer goats aged 12-14 months were divided into 3 groups; the first group n=6 was inoculated with 1ml sterile PBS s.c. as the control. The second group n=10 was inoculated with live C. pseudotuberculosis 1×10 9

Assessment of blood changes post-challenge with Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis and its exotoxin (phospholipase D): A comprehensive study in goat.
AIM There is very little information regarding blood changes during the challenge of phospholipase D (PLD) in goats. Therefore, this experiment was conducted to study the changes in blood after the challenge with Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis and its exotoxin, PLD to fill in the gap of caseous lymphadenitis (CLA) research. MATERIALS AND METHODS Twenty-six crossbred Boer goats aged 12-14 ...

BACKGROUND Goat caseous lymphadenitis (CLA) is a chronic disease caused by Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis. However, there is paucity of data about goat's acute phase response during the course of CLA. This study was conducted to investigate the response of acute phase proteins, mainly haptoglobin (Hp), serum amyloid A (SAA) and the negative acute phase response, especially albumin after an ...
متن کاملArcanobacterium haemolyticum phospholipase D is genetically and functionally similar to Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis phospholipase D.
Arcanobacterium haemolyticum, a pathogen of the human upper respiratory tract and other systems, has been reported to produce soluble toxins, including a phospholipase D (PLD). We confirmed production of PLD by this organism and cloned and sequenced pld. Arcanobacterial PLD (PLD-A) was found to be a protein of approximately 31.5 kDa with a pI of approximately 9.4. Cosmid cloning, followed by su...
متن کاملDistribution of PLD and FagA, B, C and D genes in Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis isolates from sheep and goats with caseus lymphadenitis
Caseous lymphadenits (CL) is a chronic and subclinical disease that affects goats and sheep and, consequently, causes economic losses, especially to small producers. The purpose of this study, through use of Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR), was to verify the presence of virulence genes of phospholipase D (PLD), integral membrane protein (FagA), iron enterobactin transporter (FagB), ATP binding ...
متن کاملCorynebacterium pseudotuberculosis: biochemical properties, production of toxin and virulence of ovine and caprine strains.
Twenty-two strains of Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis, the causative agent of caseous lymphadenitis, were isolated from typical abscesses in sheep and goats from flocks in 6 different regions of France and were characterized. These strains were uniform in biochemical characteristics, susceptibility to 8 antimicrobial agents, and virulence for OF1 mice. All these strains produced an exotoxin,...
